From 1964-1972 Bernard C. G. Perier was associated with NCR Corporation, where he held a series of increasingly responsible management positions. In 1965 he designs the first Banking package associating Risk and profitability evaluation for Bank of America, Citibank and Chase Manhattan Bank Branches in Paris. In 1970 he became NCR EDP Manager in charge of Information Technology for the Indian Ocean (Mauritius, Reunion Island and Malagasy Republic). In 1972 he was nominated Manager of the NCR Data Center for the Middle East. In 1974, Mr. Perier was recruited as a Manager of SG2, the Software House and Consulting firm of Société Générale, in charge of the creation of the International Bank Department. Under his leadership, SG2 becomes the leading body of Bank Computerization outside the USA. After starting from scratch, the number of customers reached 110 Banks worldwide, and sales toped $20 Millions per year. In 1981, Mr. Perier his recruited by Telesystems, the IT subsidiary of France Telecom, where he designs and installs the first Home Banking Systems ever, operating with the Minitel and French Videotext. From 1982-1984, Mr. Perier was the Manager of the Bank Department for Philips France, the leader of Bank Branch Automation, where he conducted the first real test of bankcards equipped with an Integrated Circuit chip, in Caen, France. Sales at that time surpassed $30 Millions. In 1984, Mr. Perier established a consulting practice focused on the evolution of International Credit and Debit Cards and Payment Systems and the use of Smart Cards; Biometrics and other emerging technologies. His clients have included the most prestigious companies of the sector. Mr. Perier is regarded as a leading authority in the Smart Card world and an exceptional writer and public speaker. He is a graduate of the School of Aeronautics in Ville d'Avray, France.
